Stone Setting & Craftsmanship

Stones give a piece its voice—bright, soft, bold, or quietly elegant. At Damoness, stone setting is where design meets hand-skill. We treat each stone with the same care you expect from fine jewelry: it should sit securely, catch the light, feel smooth to the touch, and look consistent from the first sample to the last piece in a shipment.

What “good setting” means to us

  • Comfort first. The wearer shouldn’t feel prongs or rough edges.
  • Light and life. Stones are positioned to let light in, so the piece sparkles the way it was imagined.
  • Security. Settings hold stones firmly for daily use.
  • Consistency. A ring in size 5 or size 9, the first unit or the thousandth—everything should match the approved sample.

We build this into the design from the start so the look, feel, and durability come together naturally.

Our approach

  • Plan the seat of the stone during design, not after. That means space, angle and thickness are considered along with the style.
  • Choose a setting method that fits the design, lifestyle, and budget—no single technique is “best” for every piece.
  • Set by trained hands and check under magnification as needed.
  • Finish and soften the surrounding surfaces so the jewelry is pleasant to wear.
  • Review as a batch, not just as individual pieces, to keep the same look across an order.

Timelines are flexible. Some pieces can be set quickly; others—especially micro-details—deserve extra time. We’ll propose a realistic plan and keep you updated.

Setting styles we offer (plain-language overview)

Prong setting – classic “claws” that hold the stone and let in lots of light; great for solitaires and many shapes.

  • Bezel setting – a smooth rim that wraps the stone for a clean, modern look and excellent protection.
  • Pavé / micro-pavé – many small stones placed closely to create a field of sparkle; elegant and precise.
  • Channel setting – stones sit between two walls, neat and secure with a sleek, continuous line.
  • Flush/gypsy setting – stones are set level with the surface for a durable, minimalist style.
  • Halo & illusion styles – a frame that visually enlarges the center stone; delicate but strong when designed well.
  • Custom solutions – mixed techniques for signets, tennis styles, bangles, and unique brand signatures.

If you’re unsure which to choose, we’ll suggest options and show how each affects look, comfort, and maintenance.

Stones and materials

We work with natural and lab-grown diamonds, moissanite, CZ, and a wide range of colored gems. Metals include gold (18K/14K/10K) and sterling silver, as well as fashion materials on request. If your brand has sourcing preferences—recycled metals, specific origins, or certifications—tell us and we’ll align.

Finishing touches that matter

  • Edges and profiles are smoothed where the jewelry touches skin.
  • Color and shine are tuned to match your brand—yellow, rose, white, bright polish or soft satin.
  • Logos and engraving can be added tastefully without overshadowing the design.
  • Protective coatings are available for pieces that need extra resistance to daily wear.

Quality—practical and measurable

Every batch is checked for:

  • Stones sitting level and straight, with even spacing and clean grain lines.
  • No sharp points or snags on prongs and borders.
  • Color, finish and overall look matching the approved sample.
  • Secure packaging that protects the setting in transit.

Where a lab test or certificate is helpful (e.g., plating thickness or stone reports), we can arrange it.

Working together

You can start with a sketch, a reference photo, or an existing sample. We’ll discuss the look you want, your budget range, target quantity, and when you hope to launch. From there we suggest a plan: design refinement if needed, a sample to test fit and sparkle, then production with steady updates. Timing has a reasonable range and we’ll adapt to your schedule where possible.

Care notes for your customers (optional for brand cards)

  • Put jewelry on after lotions or perfume.
  • Remove for sports, pools and harsh cleaning.
  • Wipe with a soft cloth; store pieces separately to avoid scratches.
  • Visit your retailer or service center for periodic checks on prongs and clasps.
  • We can supply a short care card with your branding upon request.

We’re Here to Help You

How do I choose the right setting style?
Start with the look and how the piece will be worn. Prong settings maximize sparkle, bezel is smooth and protective, pavé adds texture, and channel gives a clean line. We’ll show side-by-side visuals and explain comfort, upkeep, and price impact so you can decide with confidence.
How secure are the stones—and what if one loosens?
Seats are planned in the design and each piece is checked before shipping. With normal wear, stones should stay firm. If something loosens, we’ll support repair or replacement within a reasonable workmanship window per your supply agreement. Care tips (avoid harsh chemicals, store dry) further extend life.
Can you work with lab-grown/natural stones—and what are typical timelines/MOQs?
Yes. We can source stones or set client-supplied stones after a quick inspection. Timing has a healthy range: design in a few business days, samples in about 1–2+ weeks, and production in several weeks depending on quantity and complexity. We can start small (samples 1–5 pcs; pilot runs possible) and scale together.
